Volunteer
(TODO reword) Most of the work is sorting what comes in, packing it, and handing it out. No experience is needed and no commitment is required beyond the shift you sign up for.
What you would actually do
- Sort clothing by type and size, and set aside what is not usable.
- Check hygiene products for damaged or opened packaging.
- Pack grocery bags and stage boxes for distribution.
- Staff the door during open hours.
- Break down cardboard and keep the basement navigable, which matters more than it sounds.
Signing up
org.signUpUrl. The current site uses a Google Form, which is fine — link it here rather than making it a separate nav item.Groups are welcome. Email info@operation-ground-support.org before bringing more than about six people, so there is room and enough to do.
Hands sorting or packing — close, from above, no faces. This is the one image on the site that shows work happening, so it is worth shooting several and keeping the sharpest.

Photographs and privacy
We do not photograph the people we serve. Volunteers are sometimes photographed for this site and for updates, and we ask first — you can always say no, and it changes nothing about your shift.
